Polka dots are cute and whimsical and I suspect the bride is definitely hiding a polka dot bikini somewhere on her person. Bless her polka dot socks.

When I think of polka dot wedding cakes, I can't help but think of cute little bikinis, but either the bride has one packed under the beautiful wedding gown or there is definitely a polka dot theme going on. Nevertheless there is something cute and whimsical about polka dot cakes. 

Of course there's nothing new about polka dots. The polka dance was a huge hit in the 1840's, so it was almost natural that all things polka became faddish and hip. The equi-distant dot is the last remnant of that nineteenth century fad that passed briefly and found it's way to the polka dot cake.
